Can you check in online?

Our number one tip for saving time at the airport is to check in online, and not at the airport. This lets you evade those long lines at the check in desk. You’ll also be able to use the bag-drop if you choose this option, which is far faster. Check before you fly – if you’re using one of the major airlines you’ll probably be able to check in online.

Travel light

The less you take, the less stress you’ll have. For starters, making the trip to the airport with a lot of baggage can be stressful. You’ll likely have to walk some distance to get to your train/taxi/bus, so remember that when you pack.The less you have the easier it will be to get around.

Fly with hand baggage

If you don’t mind taking fewer bags, then the hand luggage only route will also save you a lot of time. Combine this with an online check in, and you’ll whizz through the airport. Instead of spending three hours at the airport, you can usually cut the time down to 1 1/2h if you check in online and just take hand luggage.

Splash out on lounge access

Did you think business lounge access was only available for business class passengers? Think again. Find the best lounge option by searching through Google for the airport you’re going to plus the word ‘lounge’. You can also buy a subscription package if you’re going to be flying a lot.

Use your time in Lounge access gives you the opportunity to catch up on emails, and often includes free tea and coffee. The great thing is that you’ll be away from the stress of the airport.
