The best way to lose body fat is to elevate your metabolism naturally.
‘Metabolism’ is a word that I am sure you have heard of, but may be a little confused by it. You may know that there is a link between your metabolism and your weight, but you don’t understand how.
In today’s on-line world, there’s so much information out there so let’s begin by defining what your metabolism is.
Metabolism is the process of transforming food (e.g. nutrients) into fuel (e.g. energy). Your body then uses this energy to do its stuff by carrying out a bunch of different essential bodily functions. You can therefore quickly see why a higher metabolism is the best way to lose body fat; an elevated metabolism quite simply burns more calories.
Before I explain your options to increasing your metabolism, let’s just put to bed some of the myths in the fat loss and fitness industry:
Fat Loss Myth Number 1:
Restrictive or starvation diets are good for weight loss. During the first few days of such a diet you will lose a few pounds (water loss), but very quickly youre metabolism will grind to a standstill which causes your body to store fat. Is this the best way to lose body fat?
Fat Loss Myth Number 2:
Fat burning tablets can help you lose weight. There’s only one thing I can say about these pills; don’t waste your money. They are useless and can also have side-effects. Do you think this is the best way to lose body fat?
Fat Loss Myth Number 3:
Low intensity cardio is the best exercise for fat loss. Plodding along at steady state on a treadmill or stationary bike for 30 minutes is not only boring, but it also doesn’t assist in fat burning in the long term. It has been shown that you are burning fat during the exercise itself, but as soon as you stop your metabolism slows down very quickly. In fact your body quickly becomes conditioned to this type of exercise. Do you think this is the best way to lose body fat?

Remember to stock up on plenty of fruit and vegetables also. Eating in this manner will provide you with a constant source of energy and stop you feeling hungry throughout the day.
Fat Loss Fact Number 2:
If you increase your muscle mass you will increase your metabolism at rest. I am sure that made you sit up. Creating muscle quite simple means you will burn additional calories at rest. The best way to create muscle is to do resistance training workouts. It is possible to use basic equipment (barbells, dumbbells, etc) or even your own bodyweight as resistance.
